From/To filter

The From/To filter is an efficient way to narrow down your search based on the device identifiers of the caller/sender (From) and receiver (To) of the communication.

Specifically, this filter allows you to search based on device identifiers, typically a phone number or email address. Here’s how to use it:

When you use the From/To filter, you're effectively searching both the 'From' and 'To' fields simultaneously. This allows you to seek out communications involving any device identifier - this could be internal or external phone numbers, email addresses, or even display names in applications like Teams, WhatsApp, or WeChat. Therefore, if the identifier you input is found in either the 'From' or 'To' field, the recording will appear in your search results. This provides a comprehensive way to ensure no relevant communication data is overlooked.

  • In the 'From/To' field, enter the device identifier.

  • You can add multiple identifiers to the filter. To do this, press enter after each identifier you type in, and then start typing the next one.

  • When adding multiple identifiers to the filter, the system uses 'OR' logic, not 'AND'. This means the search results will include recordings related to any of the specified identifiers, not recordings that involve all of them at once.

The filter offers two "modes" for filtering: "Starts with" and "Ends with".

Starts with: By default, the From/To filter will use the "Starts with" mode. This means that the system will search for recordings where the From/To fields start with the entered text. For example, if you enter "john@", the system will search for all identifiers starting with "john@".

For phone numbers, make sure to prefix the number appropriately, as the system recognises phone numbers with their prefixes. For example, if you're searching for a UK phone number, you might start with "+44" followed by a number.

Ends with: To use the "Ends with" mode, you'll need to adjust the filter settings manually. This mode allows you to search for recordings where the From/To fields end with the specified text. For instance, if you enter "@company.com" in the From/To field and select "Ends with," the system will search for all identifiers ending with "@company.com".

By focusing on device identifiers like phone numbers and email addresses, the From/To filter provides a targeted way to retrieve recordings. It's especially useful when auditing communication involving specific numbers or email addresses. The "Starts with" and "Ends with" modes add further flexibility to your search, allowing you to find the most relevant recordings based on your specific needs.
